Darkhan Empathy School (DES) is a private, non-profit, coeducational, day and boarding school. Located in Dakhan soum, Darkhan Uul province in Mongolia, DES has been in continuous operation since it was founded 25 years ago. Our school offers Cambridge International Curriculum to grade 6-9 and the Mongolian National Core Curriculum to grade 10-12.
We enrolled 420 students in the academic year 2019-2020 with a student-teacher ratio of 12 to 1. We offer a personalized education experience that empowers students to discover their passion. Our rigorous and respected international and national dual curriculum is implemented by an experienced faculty consisting of 36 educators, including 9 expatriate teachers from 5 different countries.
Lessons are taught in English and Mongolian. Students can also choose from elective language courses such as German, Korean, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
Darkhan Empathy School has two main campuses including a student’s dormitory, a cafeteria, and a sports hall. Both purpose-built sites are supported with modern classrooms with smart boards, comfortable desks and chairs, and eco-friendly rest areas. In the academic year 2019-2020, our modern and comfortable students’ dormitory is accommodating 150 students.
Nearly 100 percent of our alumni pursue tertiary education in Mongolia and abroad. About 50 percent of them have been accepted into top universities and colleges in more than ten countries.
